Position: The Interdepartmental Degree Program in Human Complex Systems at the University of California, Los Angeles
( HYPERLINK http://www.hcs.ucla.edu)invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in our Human Complex Systems (Minor) Degree Program. The lectureship is at 25% time, for two quarters beginning January 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2008 with possibility of extension, depending on funding. The lecturer will assist instruction in an upper-division course in the foundations of complexity science and co-instruct a journal club seminar in human complex systems and organize its accompanying quarterly conference.
Qualifications: Minimum one year, prior undergraduate instruction in non-linear dynamics and complexity science for social science majors, including physical, biological, socio-cultural and organizational systems. Experience in the design and presentation of conferences/symposia in the natural and social sciences, including complex systems.
